I took an “easy run” this morning with the intention that it would help me keep my long slow run slow. (As if I need help being slow.) I happened to notice that someone had gone outside and as a practical joke, where there was supposed to be air, they replaced it all with something the consistency of maple syrup. And left notice that it would be more tomorrow. Now, being the foolhardy individuals we are, we’ll still show up at the Common tomorrow morning. Here’s where we need to be smart.
We’ll run shorter than usual. We can even run a little easier. Don’t put too much stress on the system. Sometimes rest is good, too. If you need help going slow, just watch me. It’s good for a laugh or two.
Let’s hit the store in West Boxford, then go back to the Common: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/fullscreen/2182542235/
If you want even shorter, turn back early by cutting across at South Bradford:
Still On the Horizon: The BRC Ultra Border Crawl
I started a conversation last week with our BRC Ultra coordinator. I then told you about it. I haven’t heard of anyone’s intention to run the Ultra. It’s coming. All interested participants should inform the planners of their intentions, and of their October races by the end of this weekend. After that, you can still opt to run it, but we will be setting the date THIS WEEK.
For those of you who are new, we have a 36-mile Ultra Border Crawl planned that will touch all of the borders in one day. Several members earned their BRC number in this way. If you’re a ROWB, you can, too.
Just remember…Winter is coming. I like ellipses.
