Going faster miles an hour
It is gratifying to have another raucous and wildly successful Run to Breakfast™ in the club’s logs. It was great to have so many of you pull up a chair to the table. Mix in a few ultra-runners who had more miles than beers (tsk, tsk) and it was an outing worthy of this “organization.” I believe that ‘21 is shaping up to be a helluva year. Races are coming back. Warmer weather is approaching, and winter is fading quietly away in the rearview mirror. Fear is being replaced with enthusiasm and confidence. If I could ignore the pollen in the air, I would say things are just about perfect. While we’re basking in the glow of our recent accomplishment, why not get some more real mileage on those tires? Not for me, of course, but for you. Run out and conquer the North Reading border. It’s not going to run itself. If you’re RWOB who needs Middleton, ask a member to take you the extra mile.
Out-and-backs are great because if you don’t want to run 14 miles, you can always turn around early. I will make sure there are beverages at the border, and I’ll see you at the Common for the finish. We have several new RWOBs, and some runners may be finishing their borders. You should time your workout so you can come out to say “hi.”
