BRC Run – 10/15 – 6:00AM – 7th Annual BRC Ultra Border Crawl [*fanfare]

13. October 2016 News 0

All-You-Can-Eat Borders

Please join us for a casual jog around the perimeter of town. This is not a race, think of it more as a victory lap. We’ll be in no hurry, the borders will wait for us. There will be wining and dining along the way and light, easy conversation with friends. If it was any more fun we’d have to get a festival permit from the town. You do not want to miss this one.

Early Start Time

We have some ground to cover this week, so we will be starting early at 6:00AM. It will still be dark but that does not mean you can stay in bed. Get up earlier because we start earlier. That is all.

Logistics

Here are some helpful pointers for our tour of all the borders North Andover has to offer.

·         Safety Gear – it will be dark out (as mentioned above) when we start. Reflective gear and a head lamp are strongly encouraged.

·         Support Vehicle – we will have a support vehicle meeting us at each border; if you want to bring a bag with extra clothes you can put it in said car

o   Weather – it will be a bit chilly at the start but then will become perfect running weather for the majority of our Crawl; plan on temps from 35 to 58 degrees, with a light breeze

·         Food and Drink – you will have to eat and drink to finish (trust me)and we will dine at each border; if you have comfort food preferences bring them

o   We Will Have – Water, Gatorade, Pringles, pretzels, PB&J, Gummy Bears, potato chunks, beef jerky, and Motrin

·         Pictures – we will be taking pictures at each border for evidence, bring your smile and wear clean clothes.

·         Beer – I can’t even begin to tell you how tasty the beer is at the end of this

o   Beer at the Turn – we could have a new Member at the end of the 1st Loop and there might be beer then too

Approximate Schedule

Here is how the day will shape up, roughly speaking. If you care to find us on the course, here is when and where to look. It’s worth noting that the margin of error increases throughout the day.

Roll Call

I have a pretty good idea of who is committed to taking this on but it helps planning the logistics if I have something better than a pretty good idea. If you are running or helping out, please Reply to me.
