Because it’s fun to say. And I had no idea it existed until I went looking for an alternate start location for our road trip. We’re going to try out everything Spofford.

Semantic Satiation

You wouldn’t know it because you’re probably reading this paragraph second, but it is in fact the last part added to this Spofford-centric email. Every time I typed Spofford I said it in my head and now it has lost meaning. Although it is no less fun to say. Spofford. See?

Route Summary

You’ll want to pay attention to these directions, well, because we’ve never run this route before. It goes a little something like this. Hit it.

1.       Start at Spofford Pond School on Spofford Pond Road across the street from Spofford Pond (makes sense, yes?)

2.       Head right out of the parking lot up Spofford Pond Road

3.       Take a right onto Spofford St (seriously people, you can’t make this up)

4.       Spofford St turns into Andover St (run past the Black Swan Country Club)

5.       Hook a right onto Central St. in Georgetown

6.       Another right onto Nelson St that becomes Baldplate Rd.

7.       First left of the day onto Ipswich Rd.

a.       For anyone looking for a 6.2 Mile Run, hook a right here and head back to the school

8.       You guessed it, right onto Georgetown Rd.

9.       Umpteenth right onto Herrick Rd.

10.   Wait for Herrick to become Spofford Pond Road and we are done with our Circle of Rights
