Hello all,Still looking for participants and volunteers for the 12th Annual BRC Triathlon.I'd like to get at least 9 more confirmed participants. More participants = more fun. Can't stress enough that all ability types are welcome. Floating devices are fine. All types of bikes are fine (yes even an e-bike, but no podium spot for e-bikers).The real need is volunteers. I need at least five more volunteers. Most roles involve standing at a street corner. Bill Lovett has an extra paddleboard or two for those interested in being an on-water lake monitor. Volunteers are necessary! If I can't get enough volunteers I might have to consider cancelling the event. Yes…I just dropped the C-bomb.Here's all who have responded. Please let me know if I accidentally left you off a list. * Denotes a maybeParticipants

Need I remind you that this is the oldest continuously held athletic event in the USA*? And it's a helluva lot of fun. Swimming, biking, running, day beers… all before 9am!If you are hesitant about the swim leg find a relay buddy, bring a floatation device, do burpees on the Stiles Pond beach instead, watch other people swim, etc. This is a flexible event.I know making committments for events weeks in advance is difficult. I get distracted by shiny things too. But it's time to get that pool noodle, clean the rust off of the bike chain and sign up!Aaron #102* Possibly. What other events weren't canceled last year?On Fri, Jun 18, 2021, 4:43 PM Aaron Preston <atpreston@gmail.com> wrote:To quote 1980s R&B group Champaign: " Maybe we can Tri again"You thought the COVIDs would kill this event. F-that. It's on. Saturday July 17th, approximately 7am. Start at the Common, ride 5 miles on a bike, go for a 500 yard swim in some of the most pristine waters in Boxford, MA, bike back to the Common, run a 5k. To quote my son: "Easy squeezy, Mac and Cheesy".What makes this event? Participants, the more the better. BRC, RWOBs, friends of BRC are welcome. Have you seen what some triathlons are charging for fees. Ridiculous! The BRC Tri is…wait for it…FREE! If you are a novice and thought about giving a Tri a go, here's your opportunity. This event is as competitive as you wish it to be. All ability types are welcome. You know what also makes this event? Volunteers. Very important! We participants would be lost for all time if it weren't for the volunteers to make sure we stay on course. How do you sign up? Reply to me (not to all) and let me know if you'd like to participate or be a race volunteer. If participating, please tell me your skill level. The more people that commit early, the less alcohol-induced solicitations you will have to suffer between now and July 17th.Aaron #102
