A Run in the Woods

Kind of. This week would be a good time to make the trek out to North Reading. The beautiful course has winding, wooded roads and more hills than you would believe. It will be good for you. The more adventurous may go as far as getting Middleton while you’re at it (newbies should take a guide). This is a long route. Chris and Carol Marshall will have a water stop at their driveway about a third of the way. Get some miles. Don’t take the short cut. https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/fullscreen/2281572142/

Shameless Self-Promotion

On Sunday, I am “running” in the Harpoon 5-Miler to benefit the Angel Fund for ALS Research. Several years ago our team at work lost a friend and coworker to this tragic disease, and we’ve been pretending to run while trying to raise money and awareness ever since. Plus, there’s beer. I would greatly appreciate your help. You make a difference for people who need it. If the spirit moves you, you can donate to my fundraiser at https://runsignup.com/Race/57350/Donate/GcoSNaDabwv3YTpo

The race takes place at the Harpoon Brewery, and they’re pouring while bands are playing. You don’t have to run to come out and have a good time.

Maybe I need to bring back the calendar

·       BRC Memorial Day Run

Next Saturday we will have our annual Memorial Day Run. Consider attending. We’ve found new monuments to visit.

·       BRC Weekly 5K

Tuesday was reportedly a smashing success. I believe people who are unable (or unwilling) to show up at 645 on Saturdays came out to enjoy the first of many weeknight 5K runs, followed by food, drink, and Borderline good fellowship. Come out this week for 645pm run that starts and ends at Rolf’s.

·       The BRC Triathlon

The BRC Triathlon will be held on Saturday, July 13th. You have eight weeks to get ready.

All routes subject to change without notice. Do not use BRC routes if you are allergic to BRC routes or have preexisting liver damage. BRC Routes are not a substitute for actual training, but may be used as a supplement for training in training-like simulations.
