Independence Day is Near

Independence Day is a great time of the year to celebrate. John Adams knew it. You know it. Knowing the type of people we are, “celebrate” can mean cookouts, fireworks, parties, and family time. It can also mean a good run. While you’re reveling in your freedom, you may decide to join a race here or there. And what better way to prepare for a race, than to run the course(s).

It will be quite warm tomorrow, so I thought we’d keep it shorter. Long route is a loop around the 10K course: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/fullscreen/767825445/

The BRC Express will take you around the 5K course:

And the foolhardy may want to run both. Just because.

The BRC Tri is almost here

The BRC Triathlon is coming July 14th. It will start at the Common with a 5 mile bike ride out to Boxford followed by a 500 yard swim in Stiles Pond and a 5 mile bike ride back to the Common, culminating with a 5K run along the July 4th race course. The BRC TRI gets all types, from first timers to competitive types who are prepping for their next race.

Please let Paul O’Neil know if you’re interested in participating at all. Good starting positions are still available.
