BRC Run – 10/8 – 6:45AM – Mini Crawl – 8.8 Miles

Touch ‘Em All (Next Week)

It’s that time of year again when we like to visit all of our borders in one day. I know, I’m having a hard time sleeping too. Crazy, right? For some reason every year a small subset of our readership thinks this is beyond their running capabilities. If that happens to include you, just remember this. You used to not know how to ride a bike, and before you could, you probably had your doubts. Now, looking back on that, it seems silly that you every thought for a moment you couldn’t ride a bike. Well, running the Ultra Border Crawl is the same thing.

Just An Appetizer

This week’s run is a mini version of the big event next week. It’s like the Ultra Border Crawl without the borders. This run will make you realize how ridiculously easy the Crawl really is.

Add Your Name Here

Did you know that six, count ‘em six, Crawlers completed the Ultra in the inaugural year? The list of Ultra Border Crawlers includes three one-day wonders and last year we added our first Lady Crawler. Do you want to know what they all have in common with you? They all thought it was a stupid idea too but did it anyway. The point being is there is absolutely no reason your name shouldn’t be added to this list next week.

No.

Think About It This Way

We break the Ultra Border Crawl down into 10 very manageable legs for you. The average leg distance is a mere 3.69 miles (I did the math for you). Half of them are shorter than that. The longest leg is just 5.62 miles. So ask yourself this, can you run 3.69 miles? Sure you can. Can you run 5.62 miles? Sure you can. Therefore, if the answer to both those questions is yes, then you can run this Ultra Border Crawl. The logic is unassailable. To think of it any other way would be silly. In case you still haven’t wrapped your head around this, perhaps I should remind you that we have snacks and breaks and take pictures along the way. It really is more of a Borderline Field Trip. And field trips are fun.
